Senate Passes Menendez Resolution Commemorating Greek Independence Day

U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, today applauded the Senate's unanimous passage of his Resolution (S.394) honoring the 195th anniversary of Greek Independence Day and celebrating the traditions of cooperation and friendship that continue to remain strong between the two nations.

"The U.S. and Greece share a fierce commitment to upholding democracy, and I am proud to stand with my fellow Senators and all Americans in honoring this milestone," said Menendez. "With this Resolution, we not only pay homage to the ancient Greek philosophers whose writings form the bedrock of American representative democracy, but applaud Greece's continued and unrelenting efforts to advance stability and human rights around the world."
